Sports cars are so much fun and there are plenty on the market from which you can choose. However, if you want a legendary muscle car icon, then only a 2024 Ford Mustang will do. The line now adds advanced technology, safety, and performance features to all the best design elements that Ford has carried over from past models.

A Legend Reimagined: The 2024 Ford Mustang

Design

Exterior accents such as machine-faced 18-inch aluminum wheels with High Gloss Ebony Black pockets and eye-catching sequential LED taillights give the 2024 Ford Mustang the edgy profile it deserves. The interior has conveniences like rain-sensing wipers even in the lowest trim.

Performance

Of course, what matters most in sports cars is found under the hood, and the 2024 Ford Mustang delivers on all models. A 2.3-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine with 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque is standard on the lowest trim. You also get a 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, Dual Bright exhaust system with rolled tips, and selectable drive modes. An optional 2.3L High-Performance Package offers chassis tuning, an upgraded brake system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more.

For even greater power, a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 delivering 486 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque is standard on the GT models, and a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine providing 500 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque is standard on the Dark Horse trims. Those all come with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Technology

The 2024 Ford Mustang’s lowest trim level comes with a 12.4-inch LCD Digital Cluster with Information on Demand Message Center and 6-speaker audio system. Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system with 13.2-inch touchscreen is also standard. A FordPass Connect modem with 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two USB smart-charging ports are included, as well.

Safety

Safety is one of the most important considerations for high-performance cars, and the 2024 Mustang has a perfect 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Also, even the base model has impressive standard safety and driver’s aid features, including:

  • SOS Post-Crash Alert System
  • Blind Spot Assist
  • Lane-Keeping Aid and Driver Alert
  • Lane-Keeping System with Lane-Keeping Alert
  • Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Road Edge Detection
  • Rear Parking Sensors
